I've just turned 25 and I'm the President of my country!

Now that's not a sentence you hear a lot do you? Well, then again, if you've not heard this before... then you've probably not heard of AIESEC! :)

It's been phenomenal this past few weeks... It's been amazing!!! And i just celebrated my birthday! I think this year is really special cuz i got the best gift ever....

So what did i get for my birthday?
I was elected as the next President for AIESEC in Malaysia...
I just travelled to Europe for the first time in my life for about a month....
Went psycho having my first experience of playing in the snow and getting hit by hails...
Made friends from over 90 countries ( at least one person from one country!!!)
Watched first hand 42 dynamic individuals run for AIESEC International (AI)!
Had these people sing the "birthday song" in all sorts of languages on my birthday
To get a ROSE from Brodie on my birthday ( haih....)
Had the MOSTTTTTT inspiring and amazing conference ever before...

Internationals Presidents Meet 2006- The Netherlands...
~and I was there! :)

So many things happened during IPM, that really made me realize how fortunate I am to be able to be there and meet inspiring and reputable individuals that continuously remind you of how fortunate you are to have been part of this global youth organisation.... reminding me to cherish every single moment i had in IPM because not everyone had the opportunity to learn and get as much from the amazing experience.

But nothing of the above would have been possible if not for my mummy and daddy who gave my dreams wings to fly! I wouldnt have gone through so much if not for their support and encouragement to follow my heart and chase my dreams!

A special thank you mummy and daddy for helping me makeĀ it so far... I wouldnt have been able to do it without you both... okay and Vivek too.. for taking care of my car for 1 month

~yes this is a delayed posting...supposed to be out in March...:P

3 Special People

I would like to take highlight a few people that truly inspired me during this NatCon:

1) Anthony (LC UKM) : Iwas touched reading the sugar cubes left for me by my delegates this conference. But the one sugar cube that made me cry so much everytime i read it and even now, just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.. is the one that Anthony wrote for me during AGM! ( thanks Anthony... you know what? You truly inspired me!)

2) Philo and Dayana ( LC UUM): This 2 girls, were new, didnt know what to expect but worked so passionately
during the conference... just so that everyone would go back with a smile on their face. No matter how tired or angry they were, they always maintained a sweet smile on their face! To the 2 of you, i really take my hats off lah!!

3) HuiLin: When Huilin came during AGM that evening, I dont know why but i felt so glad to see her. I was okay that day... till Huilin played the special MC 2005/2006 ppt during AGM for all, it is during that moment i just broke down to tears, as each slide containing our team moments and pictures was played to the music of Reach ( Gloria Stefan)And i think the only reason why i cried so much that day was because I realized i had shared so much with her this past 5 years...high and low, we have gone through so much together. I just couldnt bear to see her make her way through the crowd to LC USM members to hug each and everyone of them that night as the song "At the beginning" was playing... USM... that was were we both started... and now it was time for her to move on.. i was happy for her...and inspired to build AIESEC Malaysia to greater heights just to make sure that all those dreams we had for AIESEC Malaysia will not just end as dreams... but at the same time i knew i will miss her. Oh well, i've so much to write about her... so will specially write one post on that....sooon...i promise!

Unleash Your Power, Prepare for the adventure

" I think I learnt so much this NatCon!!"
"For the first time NatCon was so much fun"
"You know what... I'm really glad I came for NatCon"
" Anisha, I think this was the best conference i have been to"
"Thank you MCP for organising such a great conference for us!!!"

I was so touched when i read some of the sugar cubes left for me by my delegates during the last National Convention 2006 held in Universiti Utara Malaysia last June. I think for me, this conference has been really special because it was my first conference as MCP and i wanted it to be a conference that everyone would remember!

I've always believed that a conference should be worth every cent that a delegate is paying to attend and it was my role to live up to that expectation!

I think NatCon for me started in April itself, and together with my newly elected team we worked together towards delivering the best we could for each session. With that came a great lot of responsibility and multi tasking. We were having camps and seminars planned every weekend prior to NatCon and at the same time we still had to keep a lot of energy desiging and planning for the grand finale- National Convention 2006!

But when the week finally came, my team and I were really excited... as we drove up to UUM in our "company cars" hehehehe... 2 black MyVi's... all we could think about was about the delegates and AIESEC in Malaysia's future for 2006/2007!

We were excited, happy but at the same time nervous, because we knew this was it... and there was no turning back!
I dont know if it was because i knew this would be my last National Convention or just because i had very high expectations, but i wanted National Convention 2006 to be PERFECT!

The X-Team ran every session with so much dedication and with the hope that every session with be as impactful as it was for us!
NatCon, was built with a very different concept of using this space to plan for the coming term, where
LC's planned national initiatives and together with action steps and strategies that would take place in their LCs in order to support the National Goals that were set by the LCPs and MCs earlier in the month!
NatCon was planned to give full ownership to LCs to run initiatives and plans that would suit their different realities, wants and needs. Some of the sessions run were,AIESEC Balance score card,SONA, P&P development sessions, AIESEC MBA, Night Stalk, Special workgroups and functional meets for all the management team members.

Overall, it was a great experience for all of us... and i am glad with the outcome of the conference!
And thanks to my teams mates ( all my MC's and LCPs)...from the responce that we got from all delegates, i can sefely say that we have "unleashed our powers and have started on this adventure"!!!!
